NORTH DALMATIA is located along the eastern edges of Velebit flow, rivers Zrmanja and its tributary Krupa. The area has rich cultural and natural heritage.

The average annual temperature is approximately 14°C. During August, the warmest month, the average temperature is 25° C, whereas 5° C in January.

In the hinterland of the town of Biograd na Moru lies Vransko Lake, the biggest lake in Croatia. In the past fort of the Knights Templar stood on its shore. Other natural heritage sites include the area of Kornati, Krka and Paklenica national parks.

Kornati National Park includes most of the Kornati Archipelago with 147 islands. On the island called Dugi Otok lies one of the biggest coves of the Adriatic coast, the Telaščica cove. The Kornati National Park is a paradise for boaters and day-trippers.

In the hinterland of North Dalmatia is the Krka River with its falls and the Visovac Lake, in the middle of the which is a small island with a Franciscan monastery. The bigger part of the Krka River was declared a national park.

The Paklenica National park is abundant with numerous natural wonders and phenomena, which is why the entire. The region is simple and unusual in its connection between the sea and the mountains, rich in beech and black pine forests, its deep canyons cut vertically into the Velebit ridge, its karst formations and numerous caves and pits.

The rich cultural heritage can be admired in the cities of Zadar and Sibenik. Zadar is full of traces of various cultures that succeeded one another over the centuries. The town of Šibenik was first mentioned in 1066, its cathedral of St. Jacob (UNESCO Heritage list) from the 15th century was the crowning achievement of Juraj Dalmatinac's architectural work.

Gourmets will love North Dalmatia dishes such as brudet, prepared with different types of fish, the Pag cheese and different types of sausages just to name a few.
